Quadroon is a 24 year old hip hop artist and lyricist currently native to Santa Cruz, California. Quadroon’s birth name is Cameron Johnson. Born in Long Beach, spending his early childhood in Pasadena, he then spent the next formative 8 years living 45 minutes north of New York City before departing to the University of Santa Cruz to pursue and acquire a Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Philosophy and Minor in History of Consciousness. He currently resides once again in Long Beach, Ca with his wife and son, born three months prior to the completion of his studies.

Quadroon has been writing and producing music for over 10 years, and draws on inspirations from a variety of musical genres. Thanks to his parents, Quadroon developed a musically appreciative ear at a young age. This being said, strictly speaking, he is a lyricist, a writer, a speaker. His instrument is the pen and what he produces is the music of vocalized conceptual rhythms and harmonies which compliment and coincide with both electronic and live musical instrumentation.

Quadroon integrates complex philosophical jargon into an inviting content base laid over soulful instrumentation, guided by an evolving delivery which draws of elements of old and new school hip hop. While seeking to develop and progress the current state of human consciousness, Quadroon chooses to take the path “with”, rather than “against”. Quadroon’s deepest desire is to create music which influences not only one’s mind and body, but the very feeling of their being.
